Europe’s industries, from carmaking and defence to renewable energy and electronics, depend on critical raw materials, while its farms depend on nutrients such as phosphorus. Yet much of this supply relies on imports from a handful of suppliers, leaving Europe exposed to geopolitical shocks, price swings and supply disruptions. This session explores how circular solutions can turn recovered resources into a secure, homegrown supply, helping to close the gap between what Europe needs and what it produces.
