Building the Financing Rails for Africa’s Distributed Solar - Distributed solar is the fastest way to bring reliable power to millions of Nigerians, and the technology is proven. The obstacle is finance. Each project is still structured, appraised and monitored from scratch, on terms investors cannot compare. This session looks at a different approach. Through the Green Finance and Investment Facility (GFIF), Nigeria is building shared financing rails: common entry points for project preparation, credit and guarantees, backed by data and performance standards that make projects comparable and portfolios investable. The panel will explore what it takes to turn a fragmented pipeline into an asset class, and how digital infrastructure and international partnerships can speed that up. Participants will leave knowing where the investment opportunities in African distributed solar lie and how to take part.
